What is customs service?
Customs service includes the works for customs declaration for import-export shipments.
Customs service has 2 options:
- Customs broker: Company or individual providing business uses the Letter of introduction, on behalf of the owner of the shipments to finish the customs declaration. The customs broker will not give name of corporation (or individual) in the customs documents.
- Customs agent: The service company (individual is not allowed) give name and use digital signature to complete the declaration form, notarize the documents to submit customs files. The service company will use its own name to do the service.

What does import-export document include?
1. Mandatory documents
- Sales contract: Written agreement between two parties: buyer and seller, includes the information of buyer and seller, commodity information, quantity, delivery condition, payment method.
- Commercial invoice: document issued by the exporter show the payment request: unit price, total amount, payment method, beneficiary information,…
- Packing list: Document showing number of items, mode of packing, shipment’s value is excluded.
- Bill of lading: Document confirming which kind of transportation for the shipment (Seaway or Airway)
- Customs declaration: a form that list the details of goods that are imported or exported to the customs authority to prove that the commodities meet the requirements for import-export to a country.
2. Common documents
Beside the mandatory documents as listed before, depends on the contracts in reality, we have to add the other documents:
- Proforma Invoice
- Letter of Credit
- Insurance Certificate
- Certificate of Origin
- Phytosanitary Certificate
